Such a tapping process occurs 2 to 3 days but never more often once in a day. When the same area of the tree is tapped completely then you can repeat the process for the new portion of the same tree.
It will take 7 years to heal that cut of the rubber trees and then it is ready for the next tapping process after 7 years.
Coagulation is the most common method to extract rubber from the latex. Coagulation is the process that makes the thickness of polyisoprene into mass. This process almost takes 12 hours to complete.
Now diluted acid-like formic acid is mixed with the latex and rolled twice. The first rolling is to remove excess water and the second rolling is to texture the rubber.
After squeezing the all water from rubber it resulted in 1/8 inch of thin shit and it is dried into smokehouse or using hot air it’s also called air-dried sheet.
This type of process will give you a good grade of rubber or even higher quality rubber.
After the completion of this process, it is ready to be sold and export to other countries.
how is synthetic rubber made?
Do you know how synthetic rubber production begins? it is a cool process.
- It begins with the refining of oil coal and other hydrocarbons. Naphtha is produced during the refining process.
- Monomers are the necessary product to manufacture synthetic rubber that’s why naphtha is combined with natural gas to make monomers like Styrene and isoprene.
- Then this monomer goes to some processes like the emulsion polymerization process or solution polymerization process.
- Our idea is to create chains of polymers that will create a substance like rubber or latex. Both processes will do the same to make rubber.
Now, these substances go under some processes using some techniques like vulcanization to produce synthetic rubber which is used for tire production.
Types of synthetic rubber:
1)Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is a polymer made from styrene and butadiene. Those compounds are made from petroleum at an oil refinery before being combined in a 25/75 styrene/butadiene mix.
2)Butyl rubber is a copolymer made up of isobutylene and isoprene – isobutylene is a methyl-propylene compound, and isoprene renders the rubber unsaturated and vulcanisable.
